Making AfterWords Accessible
We are committed to making our programming accessible to anyone who wishes to be part of our audience. To let us know your access needs for an event, or if you have questions or feedback about our accessibility policies, please get in touch with us.
A number of our live events in 2023 include ASL interpretation, and two of our evening programs will be live streamed this year (See our schedule for more details). We will provide ASL at any event on request. You can email us to request ASL interpretation at additional events with at least two weeks’ notice before the event.
Our venues are wheelchair accessible, and offer chairs without arms. Companion tickets can be arranged at no additional cost. All our venues offer gender-neutral washrooms. Our Kids’ Day programming includes a low-sensory room.
We offer free tickets for anyone who needs access—no questions asked. We are also offering a “pay-it-forward” option on many of our events, for those who wish to contribute to our Equity Tickets program. You can find that option when you purchase tickets to AfterWords events online. If you need a free ticket to any event, please email us and we will happily accommodate you.
