About the Event

Join award-winning playwright and screenwriter Daniel MacIvor in conversation with Acadian poet and translator Jean-Philippe Raîche as they discuss the many challenges of translating MacIvor’s play The Best Brothers into French. Les Meilleurs Frères is Raîche’s first translation for the stage and is currently in development at the Théâtre populaire d’Acadie.

Hosted by Sonya Malaborza, this bilingual event is presented by the Literary Translators’ Association of Canada and the AfterWords Literary Festival through funding from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Access Copyright Foundation. We're grateful as well for the support of the Conseil communautaire du Grand-Havre.

A combination of captions and subtitles have been produced in both English and French for increased access to this conversation. Audience members are asked to choose between the English or French option when signing up to the event.
